About the owners:

Neither Joseph nor Ashley are originally from Lafourche Parish. While they are both transplants, they have started to put down roots, literally, in this unique and historic area. Joseph and Ashley are both 1st Generation owners of the vineyard, which they started from scratch after transplanting a dying muscadine from Lafayette and watching it flourish in the rich soil. They apply their skills in research and development, data analytics, and other technological domains into a biodynamic and regenerative vineyard ecosystem. They must approach each situation different than other vineyards, because  no other vineyard has to deal with wild boar, cotton mouth and copperhead snakes, alligators, black widow spiders, and countless other hazards on any given day. It is truly the savage south.

I am from Lafayette Louisiana, but have lived all over the world. I have made the move a few years ago to what I feel is my own paradise, the bayou Lafourche area. I now call Galliano La my home.

My name is Joseph Jaubert III. I have a problem. I can't stop learning. My brain is kind of ballistic and all the post combat civilian life drives me crazy. Like many people, I have a problem where I don't sleep much, I have to learn everything I come across that I don't know, and I have anxiety if I don't know how to do something or why something is the way it is.

My therapy has been gardening. My world becomes quiet, peaceful, and I can focus on each plant. It is really the only time I can get my brain to slow down. Not long after my amazing grandmother passed (deeply missed) I was given two of my grandfather's very old muscadines. He had not been around much to take care of them and they were not doing well. My cousin had one, and it died during the transition to his house.
This was not the case for me, the 30+ year old plants came to life in the fertile soil here. They thrived in the extended sunlight and warmer temperatures.

New Orleans girl, learning to love the country. Hi, my name is Ashley Naquin, and I fell in love with the Bayou since I was a young girl visiting Grand Isle for Naquin family reunions. There really is so much more south of NOLA than most people realize. The towns, the people, the easy way of life and the SEAFOOD!.

I have never been good at growing things. My comfort zone is marketing, photography, and organization. I am currently growing honeysuckle and hibiscus, blackberries and peppers. It is all a learning curve at this point, but I can say that I am much improved and it has really helped with learning to improve my patience levels and stress.

My primary job away from Cajun Vineyards and the Sweet Orchard Inn, is Real estate. I am studying Notarial Law when not tending the Blackberries.
